My favorite bike bells are from the French designer Pylones. The store has a range of everyday objects decorated with funky bright colors. I have the green #11 from the bell collection on my bike — it’s cute and makes a solid and agreeable ring to let everyone know you’re coming. (Never sure how much drivers and pedestrians hear anything short of an air horn over their radios, phones, Ipods and etc. but you do the best you can, n’est-ce pas?)
I went to the Pylones NYC store in the West Village and tried to take some custom shots of the collection, but apparently photo taking isn’t allowed under Pylones policy… Zut alors! There are shops in Paris, NYC, Istanbul and beyond, and you can order their products online.
