Following up on the update from Boston (yeah Renee!), there is also planning underway in NYC to set up a bike-sharing system similar to the Ve’lib model used in Paris. Can we do it? Challenges of theft, practicality and safety are all on the table. You can listen to a great segment on the Brian Lehrer show/ WNYC radio from the other day with Paul White, the executive director of Transporation Alternatives, our local biking advocate group. You can even hear me call in and babble like a moron about the Ve’lib system in Paris. Woo hoo! Go Transportation Alternatives! Go Brian Lehrer! Go WNYC!
