Bike tickets in the news AGAIN!
Has anyone ever gotten a speeding ticket on their bike?
This morning I’m hearing reports that the NYC police were giving bikers tickets for going faster than 15 miles per hour in Central Park, but those tickets were recently revoked with apologies to the ticketed bikers.
There is, however, a speed limit in the park, and it is apparently 25 miles per hour.
Happily, I don’t think I’m at risk to be ticketed, with my crappy and inefficient bike…

We regularly receive speeding tickets for cycling on City of Calgary pathways (mixed use paths that travel through the city). I think the speed limit is 20 Km/h which is about 12 mph. Whatever it is, it ridiculously slow and just seems like a cash grab more than really making things safer for joggers/walkers/rollerbladers/etc

That sounds ridiculous, JP… Time to put a speedometer on the bike perhaps?
