Despite the heat, it is technically still Spring, so… In celebration of Tweed achievements past, present and future, your presence is humbly requested at Bow Ties and Crumpets, The Big Apple Tweed Spring social event.
Where: Hosted in an intimate space at the The Penny Farthing, 103 3rd Ave, New York, NYC
When: Sunday, June 12, 2011 — we will be making merry with friends old and new from 6pm to 10pm.
At 7:30pm, Harris Tweed will present a 20-minute screening of “From the Land Comes the Cloth” – a tale of how love is spun into thread by the islanders of Lewis, Harris, Uist and Barraa, to create fabric certified by Harris Tweed. The screening will be followed by a live Jazz performance by the hot and dreamy Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra.
As always, be appropriately clothed in your very best! Suggested attire is anything fun and vintage that helps beat the heat, i.e. linen, cotton, and seersucker, to name a few. Although your Tweed garments and fine steeds are not going to be showcased at this event, please make sure they are groomed and ready for our much anticipated Fall ride.
In true Big Apple Tweed fashion, our most distinguished guests will be rewarded with the following prizes:
• Grand Prize Raffle
• Most Tweed Spirited Lad or Lass
• Most Breath-Taking Accessory
Space is limited, so please RSVP to ride@bigappletweed.com with “RSVP” in the subject line.
Please, RSVP before June 10, 2011 to help us plan.
$10 dollar suggested contribution.
