Some people like the cold and some like the hot. I could argue good points and bad points about either. I could argue that our climate is relatively dandy compared to say.. Iceland. However if I compare the dark and gloomy winter to the bright and sunny summer months of Sydney then I think it’s fair to say winter sucks.
I do love the jumpers, the explorer socks, the hot drinks and endless excuses I’m aloud to give myself for not stepping my cold little feet outside the house on a perfectly sunny day.
It just sucks when you get a cold or flu!!! and don’t worry I’m not going to mention the Swine flu – I wouldn’t be that boring.
I ride to work and so do the others that I work with. Last winter a cold came on and so didn’t ride. ”Are you serious?” my work mate said. “I always ride when I’m sick it makes me rid the devil faster”
Bullshit! I tried that last week. I was weak, snotty nosed, coughing and fuzzy. Hoped on my bike and it made me so dizzy I couldn’t remember if I’d said goodbye to my mates as I left them at the cafe. Further more I thought I was having delusions. They were acting all very proper and “old world”. Seemed to be dressed in a lot of tweed.
I came to a conclusion….
Pre Cold —-> Riding is great for preventing colds
First Stage of Cold —-> Riding is great for sweating it out of the system.
Snotty face Cold —-> REST!
Post cold —-> You never get a cold twice a season, relax!
Do you agree with my match? A survey always makes a more accurate conclusion.

I totally agree. I ride int he winter here until it gets too cold. Anything below 15 Fahrenheit is too cold for me usually. But i get sick less often when I ride throughout the winter.

Oy! Winter can be brutal! As things finally warm up here, I’ll be thinking of your cold feet and hands!
I have to make a cut off temp. also, but the ice and snow truly dictate when I can ride. I’ve been tempted to try the Pugsley in the snow to get to work, but it would be a long 12 miles in!
