Carbon Fibre bike polo mallet

November 19th, 2009 · 8 Comments

I haven’t played a lot of bike polo, it’s mainly just messing about with my mates. I really enjoy it but I find that after a while my wrist gets strained from the weight of the mallet. So, to save my noodle wrist from aching Tarn came up with the crackin’ idea of making a super light mallet for me.

Take 1 carbon fibre golf club, 1 carbon fibre seat tube cut off and 2 track rollers, araldite together and viola! Super lightweight mallet.

The head looks OK but that shaft won’t last the test of time.

“Rollers” look heavier than my drilled out HDPE. Purpose: Defeated.

I’m guessing that must have been a mountain bike seat post? I wonder if those can be had cheaply when they break?
