I meant to post this a week ago, but I’ve been incredibly busy with finals and the end of the semester; sorry for my lack of posts recently. Anyways, here’s my little recap of the Get Yet Tan On Again alley cat. The race started at Centennial Park and consisted of 7 check points (Sun Tan City, Dragon Park, P.M Restaurant, Yazoo Brewery, the courthouse, Bicentennial Mall/Park, and Dave’s house off of 8th ave). We could hit the checkpoints (where we got sprayed with spray tan) in any order with the exception that we had to go to Dave’s house last. Keith and I definitely picked the fastest route (sans iphone) utilizing a shortcut we had recently found and getting a little lucky (Yazoo Brewery had just recently moved locations, so we weren’t entirely sure where it was). Unfortunately, Charlie and Sebastian followed us the entire way, so naturally, they too took the fastest route. Nonetheless, Keith and I took first (my first time taking first overall, my third time taking first for the girls), and won a growler of Yazoo Pale Ale. After the race there was a barbecue at Dave’s where we all conspired to get together later that night and ride to 12th and Porter “like old times” (which we did), and saw a crazy lady literally jump her car off of a grass ledge, through a sign, and into a fence. Overall, it was a great race and an awesome day. Thanks to Dave for putting it on and organizing everything, and thanks to every one who helped out with checkpoints!
The top five finishers are as follows:
1. Keith and Devan (tie)
3. Sebastian
4. Skye
5. Charlie
