My brother, a few friends, and I decided to ride to the Chicago Botanic Garden. It’s in a northwest suburb of the city but the trail there which is 16 miles starts near the border of the city.
I’m still getting used to riding a fixed gear so it was interesting riding but I made it just fine. We had plenty of water with us, and took a break at the 8 mile mark where there is a convenient store.
Also while at the 8 mile mark on the way there we saw a turtle on the busy road and a woman got out of her car and grabbed it and ran it to the forest preserve to release it, we were saying how awesome she was. She just left her car door open in the middle of the road
The Garden was BEAUTIFUL!!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone that visits Chicago. The ride was really pretty, through a few different forest preserves, and we saw a bunch of deer. Also pesky little chipmunks kept running onto the trail
After we rode we all ate at a local Vegan restaurant and then made our way home. It was a long ride but definitely worth it!
And a final picture taken by my friend Fred.
