mOde Clutch
August 16th, 2010 · Esther - Salt Lake City · No Comments
As a gal who rides her bike everywhere and prefers the comfort of pocketless leggings, I am oftentimes forced to haul my phone and keys to work in my awesome, but large Velo City backpack (or inside my bra). This is the first reason why I absolutely love the mOde Clutch. The large metal ring allowed me to pack my essentials and rush out the door, the clutch hanging from my wrist or handlebars. Made from tasteful repurposed fabric, each clutch is handmade and limited edition, making it perfect for both a casual bike ride and a hot date. Custom clutches, wallets and bike pads can also be ordered on the website: modeclutch.com.

Cycling Copenhagen, Through North American Eyes
July 25th, 2010 · Esther - Salt Lake City · 2 Comments
“If you’ve never seen footage of the Copenhagen people riding bikes during rush hour – get ready – it’s quite a site, as nearly 38% of all transportation trips in Copenhagen are done by bike. With plenty of safe, bicycle infrastructure (including hundreds of miles of physically separated cycletracks) its no wonder that you see all kinds of people on bikes everywhere. 55% of all riders are female, and you see kids as young as 3 or 4 riding with packs of adults.”

Heart of Darkness III

Salt Lake has seen a surge of alleycats this Summer, with one just about every other week the past couple months. Unfortunately, I haven’t made it out to any of them, but this one I refuse to miss. With prizes including around six messenger bags and a frame, it’s time for me to whip out my competitive side… Any tips?

Women of Dirt
June 17th, 2010 · Esther - Salt Lake City · 1 Comment
I’m not into mountain biking, but I do work at a really cool bar that is also a movie theater, and we just happen to be showing this movie that’s all about women who are into mountain biking:
Bones Over Metal presents their latest at Brewvies on Thursday, June 24, 8:00. Tickets for the event are $7.00.
The movie, “AwesomeLand: Women of Dirt” spotlights some of the most talented women on two wheels and the lifestyles they lead to allow them to ride. It is a celebration of the mountain bike and women who love to ride. Featured riders include; Tammy Donahugh, Stephanie Nychka, Cierra Smith, Emily Johnston, Lisa Myklak, Jill Kintner, Leana Gerrard, Dawn Cashen, Katrina Strand, Kathy Pruitt, and Darcy Turenne.
Proceeds will benefit SheJumps.org.
