Candy Cranks

Hey ladies!

Sorry for the lack of posts and pictures along the way, but we have arrived in Berlin last night, 16 days after leaving Madrid!! We went up from Madrid, almost to the Northern coast before crossing the mountainous border of Spain and France, riding though wheat and corn fields, spending two days in Paris, and off we were again.

Our friend Margaux rode with us for the first two days out of Paris, finding a mattress for us to sleep on in front of a church and showing us how to buy fresh fruit in the market!

After Margaux went back to Paris, Yuki and I rode on into Belgium which we planned on just passing through, but we got lost and spent the night in Genk. The next day we rode through the Netherlands and into Germany! With everything in our messenger bags and nothing to navigate us but a simple map of each country, we didn’t have much time to sight see but we have a couple days in Berlin before we’re off to Poland!! Yay!! Looking forward to the cheap beer and partying with messengers!!

yeah, yuki the fixie queen has been on 46/16 fixed from madrid and we’re a couple hundred kilometers away from paris. me on the other hand flipped to the freewheel as we climbed the pyrenees cuz my poor crotch couldn’t handle the weight of my bag, etc. been freewheelin since and my crotch ia a lot happier!!

Heya Ladies + Gentlepeeps!

I’m brand new! So let me begin by a little self intro:

People in the bike community call me Oregon, my name from when I was a messenger in Tokyo a couple years back.

My friend Yuki, one of the fastest female messengers in the world(!) will compete in two messenger races this summer. ECMC in Madrid beginning of July, and CMWC in Warsaw at the end of July.

So we have this crazy idea to bike from Madrid, Spain to Warsaw, Poland, 3000+km in a couple of weeks. Insane!!

We will post when we get the chance, and we look forward to meeting other female riders along the way!
