Its the 9th month of the Muslim Calender, where Muslims celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. For the whole month, we will fast from dawn until sunset. For this month, we would gather about midnite to go for the Sahur Ride. (Sahur = referring to the meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting).
During this holy month as well, there’s a famous night market in Geylang that sells just about anything related to the upcoming festive month of Shawal, celebrated right after Ramadan. There’s plenty of street vendors selling snacks, curtains, lights… you name it, they’ll have it. Its our 2nd week riding down to Geylang, to eat all the tasty snacks, feeling the festive mood, people watching and some of us dancing stupidly (with their bicycles, hah) to the festive songs that were played all over the street.
Here are some of the picture’s of last night’s ride.

I was at Fabs Cycle during lunch hour today. He told me about this and he was asking if we should do a bike trip to Bintan one of these days.
Bintan is located less than an hour away via comfortable catamarans from the modern and culturally vibrant city of Singapore. It has a beautiful scenery. Perhaps i should do a weekend there with my bike.

Tour De Bintan is made up of three stages, the Tour de Bintan will cover in 2010 a total distance of 268km and will include various intermediate sprints for the Sprint Ace and King Of the Mountain jerseys.

Me and the rest have been riding out of the city for the past 2 weeks now. Last night, we head down to Changi. It was formally known as Tanjong Rusa in the old days. Changi is located at the eastern part of the island, with a long stretch of chalets, sailing club and is notorious for its trannys, famous for its good and cheap food, heaps of fat cats as well as the haunted Old Changi Hospital.
We rode up the slope towards the old hospital. It was really dark and spooky and we spotted a taxi parked at the side (tranny-taxi driver short term ‘love’ activities). When we reached the entrance of the old hospital, we didnt even wait long. I know that i am pretty spooked. We walked down the slope right away. (it was believed that if we ride down, the spirits will grab one of your legs while u are pedalling…) To shake off the spooks, we head off to Changi Broadwalk… a famous fishing spot. I remember growing up having picnics with the family at Changi. The place changed a lot but it is still giving the same good vibe till today.

We took a ride to the Seletar Dam again last Friday, then to the golden arches for supper and we head down to Punggol End for a ‘ghost tour’. We didnt spot any (not that i want to anyway), but we spotted a wild bore instead.
