Like almost all over the world at the moment, it is raining a lot in Switzerland… and yes, the weather forecast for the last weekend said “raining all day” !!!
Nevertheless me and some of my bike friends decided to go to Davos and doing a special bike tour using as much mountain railways and riding as much single trails as we could. Called the bahnentour.ch “railways tour” !!

7.00 am saturday morning. The Weather was great – sun and a very blue heaven, there was no sign of rain. We took the first railway “Parsenn” to the Weissfluhjoch. On the top of Weissfluhjoch we had a cool down hill and after that we had to deal with some difference in altitude all by our self until our next goal – the Chörbschhorn which is 2650 meter over sea! The air was getting really thin and it got very steep. I had to push me and my bike with all my strengh on the top of that Mountain:

Beeing on the top of that Mountain – enjoying the Scenery and this beautiful wheater, was totally awesome. And there was this very long down hill a head of us – we were really excided!

It was a very long down hill until we reached the next valley where we took the railway to Rinerhorn a mountain on the opposite of Chörbschhorn. After a short up hill we took the next down hill and so on… the whole day.

Portes du Soleil is one of my favorite bike location. The Bike Park is huge.. full of trails, jumps and drops. As every year me and a couple of my bike friends went to Châtel for one week. We do always rent the same Chalet “House” near to the Bike Park. This time was just as great as every year. Of course I took some pictures and made a video – enjoy:

hey girls
Probably some of you did already see, that I recently redesigned my bike blog. The new design is reduced.. less messy.. focused on the content. I did also do some changes on the structure. Now you’ll find my personal stuff navigating on the top navigation bar and all the bike infos navigating on the sidebar to the right.
My blog posts are displayed on a wall and my personal bike stories do have a background image.

I had great bike days in Lac Blanc (France) this weekend. Lac Blanc is a one hours drive from the border of Switzerland and a 2.15 hours drive from my home. Since it’s raining like for“ever”… it was… kind of… muddy… very slippery! Especially on the wooden drops and roots. …You’ll see me (in red) almost slip out on the first drop in the vid:-)
Enjoy the movie:

Many people in Switzerland are very conservative thinking, that’s why there aren’t as many bike parks as it could be…
I think it’s because “Freeride / Dowhnhill” with a bike is something new and people are afraid of new things. It was the same problem with snowboarding back in the 90th.. and look how popular snowboarding got in the last 15 years !!
That’s why we’re forced to go over the border and bike those genius bike park in France, Italy or Austria… Lucky Switzerland is so small. Most of the Bike Parks are a 2-3 hours drive close.
We’ve got very lucky, since October 2009 they’ve built a bike park at Monte Tamaro, Switzerland and we went there yesterday. Well, on the top there is still too much snow, but we could ride the new trail from the middle station to the bottom. Here is a little movie of it. Filmed with my new GoPro HD (Girls, there is no better Camera on this earth for extreme sports-filming)
Have a look on my youtube.com account

Spring is coming, the sun shines a little bit longer in the eve… that’s the time where I can do one or two after work rides next to my house:

Are we going to snowboarding or biking this weekend? That was the decision we wanted to make for last saturday. Some of our bike friends went skiing and snowboarding and some of us went biking. At Gurten in Bern (our Capital City):
My both Intense are not ready to ride, so I chose to take the Santa Cruz – VP-Free and Domi of course he took his V-10!!
My both Intense, left behind in the cellar…

Excited!!

Well, ok… the first half of the trail was very icy in the morning, but it got better in the afternoon.. or should I say it melted to mudd:-)

..guess which bike wasn’t on the trail yet:-)

It was a very cool riding day. It took a while to get all bikes and clothes cleaned….
..but it was worth it!! We made also some filming… maybe you’ll see more stuff later on my blog

Snow is falling from the sky, it is -4°C… we can’t stand our addiction to ride our bikes. So we decided to go on the top of Zurich (Uetliberg). As we reached the top, it was already getting dark, but it didn’t matter – the snow on the trail led the way down. It was a great downhill with snow and ice:

Snow has fallen in Switzerland this week. For the first time this winter. The snow came really late, but here it is. First I wanted to go snowboarding but my Snowboard didn’t arrive yet. So I decided to go biking. My Bikes are all in a kind of winter sleep (service needed!), so I grabbed my Santa Cruz freerider which is not really the bike you choose for up hill. I took my friend Lars with me and he took my heavy bike up the hill. Thanks mate!
The Weather was cloudy and the temperature 4° C. But it wasn’t that cold at all. The trail was full of hard, icy snow in combination with wet mud. Despite of the snow, I do really like riding in mud. It’s fun and challenging! With the right tires “Maxxis Swampthing” you’ll have more grip than you’ll ever expect.
It was a great winter ride, but the downhill was too short! And we had a lot of work to get rid of the mud:-)

Meanwhile, it’s really cold here in Switzerland. The weather forecast for yesterday said, snow!! Our Mountains are already full of snow…
Fortunately Switzerland is a small place and in a 3 hours drive we are in the South (“Ticino” or “Italy”) ….almost back to autumn. So we decided to bike at Monte Generoso near to the border of Italy. The weather was just awesome 15° C …. blue sky …. sunny …. just great!!!

After biking we ate a Pizza at the Lake of Lugano… and then… unfortunately it was time to drive home. As we drove through the Tunnel of San Bernadino – we knew what’s expecting us – and then it came back – the cold, wet, dark weather.
But it was an awesome day.
