“Fixed is the first book to document fixed-gear cycling. The authors have traveled to cities around the world to examine at first hand the intersections between the fixed-gear bike’s design and its racing heritage, and the street style and customization that are at the heart of its current popularity.
Interviews with sports-people, frame-builders, and those at the nexus of design, art, and fixed-gear culture give an insight into fixed-wheel design, philosophy, and riding experience. The book will appeal to cyclists fixed-gear riders, urban riders, racers, and those interested in cycling heritage as well as to a wider design audience.”

I came across these on a blog called Italian Cycling Journal, I thought these were pretty genius considering that sometimes I do ride in high heels…not the greatest idea but I dont always carry an extra pair of shoes with me when im out.
What do you think about them?

Vans Shoes made a shoe specifically for fixed gear riders.
See for yourself if it deserves a “YAY!” or “NAY!”

Louis Vuitton’s 2010 Spring collection was inspired by bike messengers. Oh yeah…. apparently to them bike messengers are skinny meth-heads, thats cool…NOT!

Think someones bike is hot? leave them a note.
Your Bike is Hot lets you print out a sheet of paper that has 8 cards you cut, punch a hole, and stick string through that allows you to hang it on somebodies handle bars.
ENJOY!

Urban Outfitters is now selling custom made bikes, by Republic Bikes. You can go on their site and check out their “bike shop.” My friend who used to work at a bike shop that had a couple of these bikes come in and most of the people that came in had to replace almost everything on the bike because it was poor quality. I personally havent seen anyone ride these around my area and frankly im glad because i wouldnt want anyone to get hurt because their bike was crap.
The concept of custom making your bike on a site is pretty genius, but i think it should be more intimate then that.
