A ninth-generation shipwright, Sueshiro Sano has been making exquisite wooden products since he was in elementary school. But in 2008, drawing inspiration and technique from a lifetime of shipbuilding, the woodworker produced his first bike constructed entirely of mahogany, including frame, fork, seat, seat post, handlebars/stem combination and even rims.
This weekend is the Bicycle Film Festival in New York City, and in addition to lots of rad people being in town for the event, there are some really amazing films that I’m stoked to see. Unfortunately I have to work for most of the weekend, but the after parties are always in full swing, and the block party tomorrow afternoon should be a really fun event!
For the full event list (including film screening details and party locations, etc.) you can hop on over to the BFF siteand check it all out there.

I especially want to say thanks to Emma for being so supportive of me and my riding. You are the absolute best, and I seriously appreciate everything you’ve done for me! [Read more →]
