Many apologies for the absence… So many fun things happened this year since I moved to Berlin. The sun is setting earlier. The air is dark and chilly. Woah it’s already December! The end of a year. So a catch up. One more big party is coming up for your all year conclusion! I need more girls to race! ( ´艸`) 〜♡
+ + THIS FRIDAY December 9, at Keirin Cycle Culture Café. Roll at 8:00pm + +

Pioneers of the global fixed gear bike culture Keirin Cycle Culture Café and Rollapaluza come together for the first ever Rollapaluza roller-race in Berlin.
Keirin Cycle Culture Café:
Keirin Cycle Culture Café is recognized worldwide as the first ever “fixed gear shop” having first opened back in 2004 as a hangout for their messenger mates (all members of Keirin and Rollapaluza are ex-couriers), selling them coffee, bikes and parts and mending their bikes. ( http://www.keirinberlin.de/ )
Rollapaluza:
The first Rollapaluza roller race was held in a pub in London in 2000 and Rollpaluza involves two riders racing over 500 metres on custom built static roller-rigs with their progress displayed on a huge dial and their times recorded by split-second digital timing, all to the backdrop of cheering crowds and pumping music.
Never seen Rollapaluza? check their movies: http://www.rollapaluza.de/movies
P.S. I’ll tell you about this + more stuff… but later.

Hi. Rie from Nagoya here. I’m currently living in Berlin now. I have my “Coffee-Bike” at
Keirin Cycle Culture Café in Berlin sometimes. Since I moved, I am very lucky enough to have my friends own amazing shop here in Berlin. They are always welcome to have my coffee-bike at their bike shop!! Thanks a lot to Keirin Berlin for having one crazy Japanese girl stealing your customers!! ;p
Here are some photos of the 7th years anniversary party at Keirin Cycle Culture Cafe last month. They gave me a spot to have my coffee-bike as well. Good times!!

I baked New York Cheesecake ♥ My 1st time, but it wasn’t that bad.

*Happy Birthday*

Sushi Meister on the bar.

The end of the party, we always have a king of bottles to clean up all empty beer bottles:)*

My Coffee Bike “CharRie’s Café” debuted in Berlin last month. It was very quick! only after a few weeks I moved to Berlin. It was the perfect timing I arrived here. I got a chance to carry out my coffee-bike at VELOBerlin, one of the biggest bicycle exhibition in Berlin. Thanks a lot to Keirin Cycle Culture Café, they made my day and put me up with my coffee-bike at their booth for 2 days. I really enjoyed making lots of my fresh hand brewed coffee on my bike café. I was very happy to see so many people LOVED my coffee. I was also selling a bag with Japanese flag design for donations to be sent to Japan. A lot of people donated. Thank you ♥ The exhibition was fun as well. Lots of cool bikes and live music set up played by bicycles.

I served free coffee with my homemade greentea + chocolate cookies ♥

The bike parts were filled with rice. (We made sushi after the show)

CharRie’s Café Interviewed on the biggest newspaper in Berlin ♥ Dankeschön ♥

+ I was interviewed for an article for a full page about cyclist outside of Japan. Find me in this magazine, BiCYCLE CLUB 5月号. ( ´艸`) ♥ hehe.

I´m miriam from berlin, normaly i ride my white single speed. but at the moment we got so much snow that i better leave it in my backyard ;-(( the long winter here really sucks.
anyway here is my illuminated bike:-) i ride during the winter month.
i love to be in the riding flow through the city, it´s such a good feedling to be outside in the streets, to use the body to get from a to b. there´s nothing worser than sitting in the metro starring out of the window!
berlin is the perfect city to ride the bike, besides the winter time. well, the true cyclists might say something different…. but jep;)

If it comes to the topic of climate change, one is being confronted with a long list of things that aren´t allowed anymore. However, to speed up the necessary change in our society, we don´t need prohibitions, but examples, dreams and social experiments.
Therefore, the Green Music Initiative created an Off Grid Experiment – the Green Music Fahrrad Disko. It´s all about music and energy without an electrical connection / power supply.
The DJ is only going to be able to play, if there´s enough people (minimum of 4 at a time) producing power by cycling. Which means the DJ can only give you something – music – as long as you´re giving him something – energy. Pretty simple.
The Green Music Fahrrad Disko has it´s premiere on thursday, 19. August 2010 in Berlin. The event starts with a bike tour from Bar 25 at 5pm, which is gonna lead to a secret location. There, DJs of Bar 25 will play as long as enough power is being produced.
If you wanna get involved, RSVP here. More info here.
