After the Bike show Keith, Andy, Candice, and I went to the RVA Trick Jam put on my Richmond Fixed and Trick Track. It had a fairly slow start, and maybe a fight, but it ended up being really awesome! All photos by Keith Gallagher, you can find more here.

Filming Myself in the Snow from Quarter Productions on Vimeo.
It snowed like crazy and I took the opportunity to go out for an hour or so and film myself trying some tricks. Shot and edited in 3 hours. Nothing special, just looks pretty. Riding bmx in the snow is damn near impossible!
5D MkII w/ Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 is my camera.
Efterklang - “Mirador” is the song you heard .
iloveqp.com is my website.
openbicycle.com is where i fix my bike.

My Hold Fast Straps arrived in the mail last week and I am in love with them. I left work early to stop by two by four on South Street in Philadelphia to pick up some Animal BMX pedals. The guys at the shop were gracious enough to let me borrow their pedal wrench to swap out my old cages. When I say borrow I mean … they did all of the work for me. Thanks two by four!

I can’t see myself going back to cages and straps any time soon. They really did their research and testing and made a great product. I highly recommend these. The best part is I can wear any shoes with them. Shoes that have a slim sole (flats) and sneakers with a little thicker sole are fine because I can adjust the straps in a matter of seconds. One note: make sure you tighten the fastening buckles down.

There was Bike Carnival ‘09 in Tokyo yesterday. I haven’t visited Keirin venue before, this was the first time for me. I saw Keirin track race, point race, scratch race, BMX performance, track stand, foot down and more!

As I´ve learnt today from my brand new issue of monsterchildren - DC Shoes and SE bikes have been working together on a series of limited edition bike projects since 2007.
After already releasing a BMX bike and a 24″ cruiser Quadangle, this year they introduced a slick fixie - the PK Ripper Fixed Gear, supposed to be a blend of an old school BMX and a modern fixed gear bike.
Available in two colors - matt black and brushed metal with blue finish (my personal favourite) - they are limited to 2500 bikes worldwide.
They come with floval tubin, landing gear fork and looptail rear end at the cost of US$ 1000.
To be honest, I don´t have much of a clue about parts and all - but just judging by looks, I´m guessing those things will be sold out fast.

This London cyclist escaped with just a cut thumb - VERY LUCKY!

Will Kemp of Second Son clothing, London, reminds us that riding on the inside of a Bendy-Bus is a bad idea!! Moral of the story: never, ever ride alongside anything bigger than a car.

I’m teaching a couple of silk-screening workshops to grade 4s this week at a school out in Point Grey on the west side of Vancouver. Thing is, I need to take several screens, silk-screen ink, squeegees and various other supplies. That’s where the trusty cargo bike comes in. I loaded it up with my supplies and it didn’t even look or feel full. This bike has seen almost everything: full-size ironing boards, coolers, ladders, groceries, camping equipment and passengers. It gets a ton of use in our house, and I highly recommend a long-tail bike for cycling trips or to anyone who likes to carry stuff on their bike on a regular basis. Some cities have cargo bike-share programs if you’re not into figuring out how to store another bike.
