Honolulu’s first BIKE PROM was a collaboration event by KVIBE, The ARTS at Marks Garage, The Kickstand, Bike Shorts Hawaii Film Festival, Sau Hsu, Dieter Runge, Ambika, HNL Bike Polo and Malia Harunaga. additional support by Jonathon Lott, Cycle Manoa, Jeremy Pang, Dylan Botelho, Jonathan Lau, and Sergio Garzon. Gratitude to all the bicyclists who allowed for their bicycles to be displayed. all photos are copyrighted by Jonathon Lott, Malia Harunaga, Ilana Nimz, and Michael Keany. For the bike month feature, the art gallery was full of floating bikes from all genres of cycling, had pictures from ladies bike events, and artwork by fellow riders relating to bicycles.
The KVIBE kids provided a bike valet service:
Jade rocked a full-on prom gown (she really biked in it!)
The Enjoyride exhibition is a collection of photographs taken during the 16 day Melbourne to Brisbane Joyride bike ride, which took place in November 2010.
My Coffee Bike “CharRie’s Café” debuted in Berlin last month. It was very quick! only after a few weeks I moved to Berlin. It was the perfect timing I arrived here. I got a chance to carry out my coffee-bike at VELOBerlin, one of the biggest bicycle exhibition in Berlin. Thanks a lot to Keirin Cycle Culture Café, they made my day and put me up with my coffee-bike at their booth for 2 days. I really enjoyed making lots of my fresh hand brewed coffee on my bike café. I was very happy to see so many people LOVED my coffee. I was also selling a bag with Japanese flag design for donations to be sent to Japan. A lot of people donated. Thank you ♥ The exhibition was fun as well. Lots of cool bikes and live music set up played by bicycles.

I headed down to Vegas with a few of my coworkers for Interbike last month. It was my first time in Vegas and I was hoping to borrow a bike so I could ride the Strip at least once.
First we went to the Outdoor Dirt Demo in Boulder, Nevada. I didn’t ride anything- it was too windy and sooo hot- I just went to see what was up.
The first day after IBike I couldn’t even walk anymore, just went to my hotel to lie down. But the second day was much better and after the show Sarah and Steve (from Modrobes and I borrowed bikes from 4th Floor Distribution (buddies of ours from T.O.) in order to cruise around.
And cruise we did.
those are our three borrowed bikes in the rock garden of Strip Burger. I ate their veggie burger twice, and they had the best fries!
so ya we went downtown:
and ended up on TV:
In the end we decided the bikes were unnecessarily heavy and not very useful, but I admit that riding the strip in Vegas is about the best place I can imagine for that bike. A security guy in the morning asked me where I got it, he wanted to buy one for his wife.
The Victoria Galeries in Sydney currently has an exhibition on some local riders and their bikes. For the opening The Sydney Bike Film Festival brought out the rollers to see who’s the fastest rider.
“On behalf of The Galeries and the Fixed Up exhibition, we warmed up our rollers for the first time in 2010. The Sydney Sunday Session crew were our test pilots with the best time of 23:57 seconds set over 500m by the eventual overall winner, Jack Mayo, who won the 1km final by only a handful of hundreds of seconds. If that makes sense. A tonne of video and pics were shot this day with heaps more to come over the next 5 weeks as we work towards finding out who is the fastest boy and girl in a Sydney Winter.”
Head down to have a go, the overall winner will take home a Peter Bundy $3000 frame.
