What’s the bike scene like in Amsterdam for females?
Mmmmm this is a tricky one – the majority of the population here rides a bike as a means of transport. I tend to ride with my friends and haven’t really explored ‘the scene’. When I first got to Amsterdam over a year ago I think I saw 1 fixie and a handful of non dutchie bikes – that has really changed lately tho – we have fixie shops, exhibitions, Bike Film Festival, bike polo and all sorts of things happening on a regular basis..so it’s starting to heat up..and with that more ladies into riding (cool bikes) J
What’s your favourite ride right now?
My new super fast Cinelli. I commute to work everyday on my Giant hybrid and I take the fixie out for a spin on the weekends. I am also in the process of building a single speed with back pedal brakes so that will be fun to ride !
Where’s your favourite place to ride? Amsterdam..all over !!
Favourite riding outfit: Depends on the weather ! In -8 degree cold it doesn’t matter what as long as you pile on the layers! In the rain it’s the daggy rain outfit. It’s comfort over fashion for sure !
Favourite food: I love food..pref of the healthy, wholesome, scrumptious type !
Favourite movie: View from the Top (I know I know!), Gia and Death Proof
Favourite book: Middlesex, The Martian Chronicles, The Passion and The Thorn Birds.
